Todd Leeuwenburgh administers and writes for this blog. He writes and edits three publications on employer-sponsored health plans for Thompson. He is a 16-year veteran in business-to-business publishing. He wrote and edited publications on Medicare and private-payer billing compliance and health data privacy. He has won first-place and third-place newsletter publishers (NEPA) awards, and was the founding editor of “Profiles of Worldwide Government Ministers,” later acquired by Congressional Quarterly. He was often published in Keesings International’s Breaking History section. He sings with the Washington Master Chorale and the Choral Arts Society of Washington. He has a Master’s Degree in International Relations from George Washington University.
Gwen Cofield is an associate publisher at Thompson. She oversees Thompson’s entire line of HR products on topics such as ADA; ERISA health, retirement and welfare plans; FLSA; FLMA; health care reform; and HIPAA. She is also editor of publications such as Mandated Health Benefits —The COBRA Guide and The 403(b) and 457 Plan Requirements Handbook. Gwen has nearly 20 years of editorial experience on employee benefits issues, including COBRA, HIPAA and ERISA plan compliance. Prior to joining Thompson she was a journalist specializing in environmental and health care issues.
Rita Zeidner manages the online editorial content for Thompson’s digital resource library, HR Compliance Expert. She is an award-winning journalist with more than 20 years of experience covering workplace relations, health and employment tax administration for HR Magazine, Tax Notes and other publications. In addition, she is a frequent freelance contributor to The Washington Post. As a long-time lobbyist for the American Payroll Association, Rita also worked closely with IRS, SSA, the Office of Child Support Enforcement and other federal and state agencies to ease administrative burdens associated with employment tax payment and reporting, worker classification and child support enforcement. An avid cyclist, kayaker, hiker and cross-country skier, Rita often writes with the goal of helping others become healthier and more active.
